Course Description
- This is a two-year professional training course that will enable the student to work as a psychodynamic counsellor.
- The first year of the course will introduce students to theoretical components of psychodynamic thinking, develop counselling skills, and will include a personal development group.
- The second year will include a placement, a continuation of the personal development group along with clinical supervision.
Who is this course for?
For those who want to train to be a professional counsellor or have a professional qualification in counselling.
For those who wish to enhance their skills in counselling to use in their current working practices. For example: Teachers, Nurses, Social Workers, Care Workers
Entry Requirements
No prior professional qualifications or experience in counselling are required but applicants will be subject to a rigorous application and interview process due to the nature of the course
Attendance and Duration
Students will study 1 day per week (Wednesday) for 2 academic years.

Qualification
Diploma – awarded independently, preparing students for entry into the counselling profession.
