The Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling (LCPC) provides counselling services and training in Leicester and the Midlands.
We offer counselling appointments (including reduced fee appointments), provide innovative Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events, and support a community of psychodynamic practitioners.
Jay Hughes is the founder of LCPC:
I established LCPC to be a place for people to come to for long term, high quality counselling and psychotherapy – offering both timely and affordable psychodynamic interventions. Over the last nine years we have built a bustling hub that has supported hundreds of local people through their therapeutic journey, trained over 30 new counsellors, and supported a community of practitioners through providing insightful and challenging CPD as well as informative and enjoyable events such as regular film nights and book club.
Working with people therapeutically – using a psychodynamic way of thinking and relating – is a great passion of mine, having worked in this way for 30 years.
I have extensive experience of working with groups and with individuals, from young people to senior citizens.
We are excited to be able to offer specialised art therapy and theraplay to children and young people, and their families, through our partners at the Centre. 2026 also brings with it the addition of new possibilities in Wilderness Therapy – please contact lcpc.no12@gmail.com if you are interested in these options.
LCPC’s door is open for you. Come and see us, come to one of our events, or get in touch with us.
