What we do

The Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling (LCPC) provides counselling services and training in Leicester and the Midlands.

We offer counselling appointments (including low-cost appointments), train new counsellors, provide innovative Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events,  and support a community of psychodynamic practitioners.

Jason Hughes is the founder of LCPC:

I established LCPC to be a safe place for people to come to for counselling sessions. It’s also a fantastic hub that trains new counsellors, supports a community of practitioners, and develops and refines practice.

Working with people therapeutically – using a psychodynamic way of thinking and relating – is a great passion of mine, having worked in this way for over 25 years.

I have extensive experience of working with groups and with individuals. I work with people of all ages, from primary school aged children, through school, college and university ages, to retired and senior citizens.

My involvement with the Association for Psychodynamic Practice and Counselling In Organisational Settings (APPCIOS) promotes supporting front line workers in a range of professions who deal with both difficult and demanding client groups. I have worked as a therapeutic consultant to a children’s home company, where I saw the real benefits of this type of work.

LCPC’s door is open for you. Come and see us, come to one of our events, or get in touch with us.
